Welcome

Welcome to the website of a new songwriter who has never been on social media until unexpectedly starting a music artist channel (https://www.youtube.com/@freddy.streetj) in August 2024.  With my collaborator, Deyder Cintron, we have now recorded 10 original songs and hope to keep posting new songs every 1-2 months.  Below you can see me during a recent pilgrimage to Nashville in July 2025 listening to the bands on Broadway and visiting the BlueBird and Listening Room. The main purpose of this website is to introduce myself and list my discography and contact information for anyone interested.

From Medicine to Music: A Journey Through Memory and Sound

Freddy.StreetJ is a late bloomer songwriter from Gainesville, Florida that strives to explore different music genres. I am influenced by a mixed cultural heritage writing music and lyrics in both Spanish and English. My songs focus on telling stories of my memories growing up in Puerto Rico followed by a long career in clinical medicine and academic cancer genetics research..

Songs of Heritage, Shaped by Collaboration

I just completed a trilogy of songs honoring the memory of the Puerto Rican laborer (‘El Jíbaro) and other songs in both English or Spanish that tells stories that are meaningful to me and, hopefully, others. These tracks would not have been possible without Deyder Cintrón, who is an accomplished producer, engineer, composer, songwriter, and audio director with an extensive portfolio in pop, film, and TV. Jacob Maskin, a talented University of Florida undergraduate and aspiring singer songwriter, embellishes the piano arrangement on several songs. They are seen here laying down the piano arrangement for "Los Colores Boricua" in my modest home studio.

I am not taking for granted the joy of this unexpected journey

"Bear Witness" is a personal composition expressing dual emotions through a duet with two voices. I reserved studio time in Memphis and had the joy and privilege of my daughter recording the female vocal track this past June 2025.
